Dentistry
We offer routine dental scaling and polishing as well as dental extractions and minor tumor removals. During your pet’s dental cleaning, each tooth will be examined for pockets in the gums, looseness, and cracks or chips. If any problems are seen, further procedures such as extractions or referral to a Dental Specialist may be recommended.
Internal Medicine
We offer diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the internal organs. This includes conditions such as Diabetes, Cushing’s Disease, Renal Failure, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, and many more.
Wellness Care
While veterinarians spend a lot of time treating problems, our veterinarians find it essential to promote wellness care. Through routine exams, vaccinations and testing, we can help your pet live a longer, happier life. Each time your pet is seen at Utopia Animal Hospital, she will have a complete physical exam by a veterinarian. We recommend routine vaccinations and we want to vaccinate as little as possible. This allows us to optimize your pet’s health without over-vaccinating. If your pet is exhibiting certain symptoms, we may recommend bloodwork for further evaluation.
Digital Radiology
We are fortunate to have digital radiography (x-ray) at Utopia. Our Fovea Digital Radiology Unit allows us to glean more information from each x-ray we take. Each image has more detail and the exposure of the x-ray lets us view all of the internal organs on one “film”, where we may have had to take 2 or more films for the same information before. This decreases your pet’s exposure to x-rays and decreases your cost. It also allows us to be friendlier to the environment because we don’t have to use developing chemicals.
Grooming
We provide grooming services for dogs and cats. Let our talented groomers give your pets a new “do”.
Bathing
We have the facilities to make giving a bath a breeze! We carry regular, hypoallergenic and medicated shampoos to fit your pet’s needs. Each bath includes a complimentary nail trim and anal gland expression, if necessary.
Surgery
We provide for routine surgeries such as spays and neuters as well as more advanced soft tissue surgery including tumor removals from the skin and abdomen, removal of bladder stones, exploratory surgeries, and removal of foreign objects from the intestinal tract. Patients who need the expertise of a Board Certified Surgeon will be referred to the appropriate practice.
Emergencies
We provide care for all kinds of emergencies during our regular business hours. Dr. Clay spent 6 months working with Emergency specialists during her internship and enjoys the challenge of Emergency Medicine. In the after-hours, we recommend taking your pet to Pet Med Emergency Hospital. Please see the Emergency section on this site for a map and contact information.
Hospice Care
We feel it is an honor to be a part of your pet’s care at the end of life. We would like to help your pet be as comfortable as possible with medical interventions while helping maintain dignity and quality of life. We want to help you understand treatment options for a variety of medical conditions and to help you perform the necessary treatments, if desired. When the time comes, we will provide euthanasia and cremation services.
